The Trojan Hull Seahawks Sign Record-Breaking Forward Alex Rushby on Two-Way Deal

The Trojan Hull Seahawks are delighted to announce the signing of exciting young record-breaking forward Alex Rushby for the 2026/27 season on a two-way agreement with Widnes Wild.

The 17-year-old, 6-foot forward joins the Seahawks as part of a development partnership with Widnes and will wear #67.

Head Coach Matty Davies is excited to welcome Rushby to Hull:

“Really excited to get Alex secured with us this year. Thanks to Widnes for facilitating this two-way – we will work closely with them on this and Alex’s development.

Alex is a player I’ve been told about for a good few years now and I really like what I’ve seen. He’s a big kid who can score and make plays.

For me, it’s time he got minutes in the National to push himself and reach the potential I think everyone sees in him. He will add significantly to our forward core with another player to add real depth. There is an in-team fight for spots and I think it will only push all of them on to play at their highest level.”

Rushby is looking forward to the next step in his career with the Seahawks:

“I’m delighted to be joining the Seahawks on a two-way with Widnes. It’s a great opportunity to continue developing my game and test myself at the next level. Hull is a club with a great reputation, so it was an opportunity I was keen to take.

I’d like to thank the club for the opportunity and I’m looking forward to meeting everyone, getting started and doing everything I can to help the team succeed whenever I’m called upon.”

Everyone at the Trojan Hull Seahawks would like to welcome Alex to the club and wish him every success for the 2026/27 season.
