The Hull Seahawks are delighted to announce the signing of forward Cameron Brownley for the 22/23 season!
Third time lucky! Sheffield-born Brownley will be joining Hull for what is technically the third time around, his second planned spell in Hull was unfortunately not fulfilled due to the Pirates not being able to ice a team for the 2020/21 season. The 25 year-old has played the vast majority of his hockey in his hometown of Sheffield, coming up through the ranks and becoming a real threat at NIHL National Division level playing for local rivals Sheffield Steeldogs. Most recently Cam has been playing his hockey for NIHL 1 sides Widnes Wild and Sheffield Scimitars where he was a constant threat to the opposition averaging over a point a game in both stints. The 5’11” forward is a great skater, not afraid to go into the gritty areas of the ice and also picks up some great points for the team along the way.
Cameron had this to say about joining the Seahawks, “I’m excited to be back playing in Hull this season as I’ve loved playing there in the past and the fans really get behind you. I’m looking forward to having a great season with the Seahawks, hoping to bring some speed to the team and help out in any way I can to help the team lift some silverware this season.”
Head coach Matty Davies commented, “This signing is one that I’m really excited about, Cam came up quite late in the summer and I was just surprised he was still available! He is a lad that I’ve played against a lot in the past 4 years with the Pirates. We had some great battles with Sheffield and he was for me their most dangerous player a lot of the times when he was on the ice. He’s got great speed and is quite an elusive player, I’m really looking forward to having Cam in our lineup. For him to get to play with the players we already have signed, he should be looking forward to seeing what he can do in this team. He’s been working hard this summer getting ready to really prove himself again in this league and I think he really will have a great season and get back to that player he was 2/3 years ago! Really good to have Cam on board and he makes our team a lot better.”
Welcome to the Seahawks, Cam!
