The Hull Seahawks are delighted to announce the signing of forward Cameron Hamill for the 22/23 season!

Cameron joins the Seahawks from SNL side Belfast Giants after scoring 214 points in just 57 games including 97 goals and 117 assists. The 17 year-old was the joint top point scorer for the Giants last season scoring 22 points in just 11 games (14 goals and 8 assists). A few months ago he played for the GB U18 World Championship squad, picking up 2 assists in the tournament which resulted in winning a bronze medal in the D2A international division.

Also, Cameron will not be the only Hamill in the NIHL National Division as twin brother Carter has signed for the Leeds Knights this season.

The youngster had this to say about signing for the Seahawks, “I wanted to join Hull because of the incredible fanbase Hull has and I came to the trial session a couple of months back. I instantly enjoyed the rink and I knew right away that this is where I wanted to go for this season. I’m looking forward to getting to meet everyone soon and hopefully win some silverware. I’m a fast skater, very good at keeping my energy throughout the game and very aggressive in the offensive zone. I also like getting into dangerous areas for scoring opportunities in front of the net where possible.
I can’t wait to see what this season brings with the Seahawks.”

GM Sport Matty Davies commented, “Cam is a product of our trial we hosted again in June where I had not been able to see these lads play before, this gave me a chance to see him on the ice. His brother came to play in Leeds last season and impressed me which earned him a contract in Leeds for this season. I knew his brother was a similar standard after hearing from a few different people and knowing he’s been in the GB set up through the age groups, which is a great indicator of the talent of that Cam has.
I’m excited for him to play his first season in this league in a team where we will have a direct rival with the team his twin bother is on, which will be some bragging rights for him I’m sure! He’s got a great chance to impress on this team and will get the chance to play and prove himself at this level. I’m excited to see Cam get out here and knowing how excited and keen he is about getting over here, I’m sure we’ll see a very hungry and intense lad who wants to work hard every time he’s on the ice. He’ll have a lot of work to do to make himself a real pro and these ages are important in doing that and I’ll be there to help Cam in doing that. The hope is he can potentially play in his hometown team Belfast Giants at some stage and I will help him the best I can to get to that level! This kid will excite the fans when he’s on the ice I am pretty confident of that”

Welcome to the Seahawks, Cameron!
