Hull Seahawks Confirm Off-Ice Leadership Team for 2026/2027

The Hull Seahawks are pleased to present their official off-ice leadership team ahead of the 2026/27 National League season, as the club continues its preparations for the challenges ahead.

The experienced group will play a vital role behind the scenes, supporting players both on and off the ice while ensuring the squad is fully prepared physically, mentally, and technically for the challenges of the upcoming campaign.

From here, your individual role sections (GM & Head Coach, Assistant Coaches, Equipment, Rehab, S&C) flow perfectly as they already are.

General Manager & Head Coach – Matty Davies

Matty Davies continues as both General Manager and Head Coach of the Hull Seahawks. As a key figure in the club’s re-establishment and growth since 2022, Matty brings deep knowledge of the game, strong leadership, and a passion for developing talent at all levels. Under his guidance, the Seahawks have seen improved performance and stronger community connection in the NIHL National Division.

Assistant Player Coach – Jason Hewitt

Returning in a dual role, Hewy will support Matty in coaching duties while also contributing directly to player development. Known for strong game insight and rapport with teammates, Hewy is well-positioned to mentor younger squad members and help translate tactical plans into on-ice performance.

Assistant Bench Coaches – Mike Roddy & Tom Evans

Both Mike Roddy and Tom Evans bring valuable experience to the coaching bench. Their roles will be crucial in analysing game situations, refining team strategy, and providing tactical feedback throughout the season.

Head Equipment Manager – Scoots

Scoots will oversee all aspects of player equipment and game-day readiness, ensuring that every Seahawks athlete has properly maintained gear. His role is essential to seamless operational support and peak player performance.

Lead Sports Rehabilitator – Dan Thomas

Dan Thomas will lead the Seahawks’ sports rehabilitation efforts, focusing on injury prevention, recovery, and overall player health. His expertise will help the team stay physically prepared through the rigours of the season.

Head Strength & Conditioning Coach – James Tyas

As the club’s Head of Strength & Conditioning, James Tyas will design and implement fitness and performance programmes tailored to the Seahawks’ competitive demands. His work will enhance athletic conditioning and resilience across the roster.

This off-ice leadership team reflects the Hull Seahawks’ commitment to excellence both on and off the ice. Together, they will play a key role in supporting player development and driving sustained success as the club competes in one of Britain’s most demanding ice hockey leagues during the 2026/27 season.
