This Saturday is our annual ‘Air The Bear’ event at Hull Ice Arena when the Seahawks face the Romford Raiders at 5:30pm, doors open 4:30pm.
When the Seahawks score their first goal on Saturday evening, the bears will be thrown onto the ice with all the collected soft toys to be gifted to children in the Hull Royal Hospital and soon to be selected Charities in time for Christmas.
Remember, the toys must be brand new and wrapped in a plastic bag to keep them clean for distributing to the worthy hospital or charity we are donating to. We accept all types of soft toys, not just teddies, but they do need to be brand new and wrapped in a plastic bag.
The plan is as follows:
- All bears MUST be brand new and wrapped in a plastic bag.
- At the first goal for the Seahawks, throw the teddies onto the ice through the doors which will be opened upon the goal being scored.
- Mascots, helpers and players will then collect the bears which will be delivered to Hull Royal Infirmary children’s ward and selected charities by some of the Seahawks team before Christmas as a special festive gift.
- If the Seahawks don’t manage to score in the game, the bears will be thrown on the ice at the end of the game. (Hopefully we don’t get to that point!)
We are very aware this isn’t the most smooth process in the world with the netting surrounding all the way around the rink, but we still want to donate to an incredible cause to put smiles on faces this festive season and give back to the community of Hull.
Please get yourself down to the rink and support us and this great cause if you can on Saturday night, thank you very much for your support!
